Happened to be by a football field with my friend Marion JUST as it started. I had my tripod and camera with me -- OUT OF SHEER LUCK -- and was able to capture these photos.

I had a spiritual experience, I have never seen anything so sublime.

I was right next to a football field that is situated adjacent to my apartment complex. I just happened to be by the entrance just as the storm started -- walked out on to the field and the whole sky lit up :D

i live too far south to see aurorae and we only get them if there is a massive CME (coronal mass ejection), which happens every 5-10 years. it is a beautiful shot.

AT what time did you take this phenomenal shot
I am hoping to capture them one of these days
I went out around midnight last night because i was
told they possibly could be seen but it was cloudy
and I did not check later because I have to drive 1/2 hour away from town!!!
I won't rely on your camera time settings for the time because mine is never right half the time LOL!

Ah yes good call :) I haven't changed the clock on my camera...I'm the U.S. and still have it set to EST. It should read 11:22 PM
